Dayton T. Brown, Inc. has an immediate job opening for a Business Development Manager of Engineering Services in their Bohemia, New York location. Dayton T. Brown, Inc. has a worldwide reputation as an Independent testing laboratory, providing testing and engineering services.

We support customers across all platform and services in the military, aerospace, shipboard, Railway industries, weapons manufacturers, automotive industry and consumer industries worldwide.

Driven by our continued success and growth we are expanding our team of experienced Business Development Managers and Sales Engineers. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager/Sales Engineer.

Our testing services are performed in one location of over 500,000 square ft. of laboratory, including  full Environmental testing (Humidity, temperature, altitude etc.), Dynamic testing (Vibration, seismic vibration shock, pyroshock MWHS etc), Structural Testing (Static load, fatigue, proof loading etc, EMI/EMC testing (MIL-STD-461, DO-160, MIL-STD-1399, Ballistic testing Weapons and armor testing. We perform testing in our indoor 100-meter 50 Cal rate ballistic range, Armament Systems Test Remote facility to deploy from any aircraft weapon release device (Bombrack, Launcher) , Conformance Inspections, failure analysis, FEA Modeling and so much more.


Bohemia, NY Business Development Manager Job Role

The Business Development Manager of Engineering Services role involves developing, managing and growing new business opportunities in all the areas described above across all markets.

As a Business Development Manager and Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing your existing portfolio of clients. You will be a self-starter who enjoys working in an autonomous role while being a member of a team of highly skilled colleagues.

You will be raising awareness of Dayton T. Brown, Inc.’s full range of services to both new and existing customers. This will involve conducting regular customer and site visits.
The role will also involve account management of existing clients; working to grow opportunities and resolve any issues or concerns. You will need to maintain a sound knowledge base across Dayton T. Brown, Inc.’s full testing capability and work in close contact with the project engineers and delivery teams helping to sell our services and suggest improvements based on your customer experience.

You will be joining a successful sales team, in a growing business. You will be expected to meet set targets goals in line with Dayton T. Brown, Inc.’s  business plans for growth.


Bohemia, NY Business Development Manager Job Required Knowledge & Experience

The successful job candidate will have:
  • Extensive relevant experience within the testing and engineering markets
  • Proven sales track record, including account management, achieving targets and complex sales
  • An understanding of key aspects of relevant accounts / the sector including Dayton T. Brown, Inc.’s relevant offering
  • Strong Engineering and communication skills

Bohemia, NY Business Development Manager Job Desirable Knowledge & Experience

The preferred job candidate may have:
  • Background in test engineering – First Article Qualification, EMI\EMC Testing, Environmental and Dynamics testing
  • Knowledge of electro-dynamic vibration systems
  • Experience at presenting capabilities of DTB to larger groups of engineers or upper management
  • Any involvement in product development
  • BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. MS a plus.

The Benham Engineer Manager will:
  • Facilitate the creation of a St. Paul strategic plan in alignment with the overall Benham/Haskell strategic plan.
  • Identify existing and new target clients for continued growth of the office
  • Execute projects, meeting or exceeding client expectations for quality, schedule and budget
  • Execute projects, meeting or exceeding internal expectations for quality, schedule, labor/cost budgets, project profitability, safety and client satisfaction.
  • Continue to grow a team who will complete the following in support of the office:
    • Create & cultivate key relationships within target client organizations
    • Identify project opportunities early and facilitate go/no-go decisions in cooperation with Benham leadership.

St. Paul, MN Engineering Manager Job Requirements

The successful job candidate has a:
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in management. Experience must include at least 3 years successful management of projects, which would include proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
  • Professional Registration required
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of clients on project-related matters.
  • Outstanding leadership ability
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to process and manage project budgets and financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
